In order to install the dial-up adaptor, we will begin from a typical opening screen which we may see on our computer once we have started it.

Click the My Computer icon

This image displays what you should be able to see by clicking on the My Computer icon. From here you will want to select the control panel. Remember, your screen displaying the My Computer icon will be different from this one as it displays a number of cdrom drives before it gets to the icon for Control Panel.

From the Control Panelwindow, you will want to select the Networkicon.

In the Network Configuration icon you will want to select add by clicking the add button. Note that in this image, the dialup adaptor has already been installed.
If you see Dial-Up Adaptor and TCP/IP ->Dial-up Adaptorlike displayed in this image, your dial-up adaptor has already been installed and you can return to the previous screen and select the next step in the process.

In the Select Network Component window, you will first select adaptor and then click the Add button.
That will move you to the next image.
Once you have completed the step in installing the adaptor, you should next select Protocol from this same window.

On the Select Network Adaptors window, you should scroll to find Microsoft under Manufacturers and then select Dial-Up Adaptor.
Once this selection has been made, you will be returned to the Select Network Component Type screen which is displayed in the
following figure.

Return to the Select Network Component window and select Protocol and click the Add button.
You will need to have set the adaptor and also the protocol that is to be used.

Under Manufactures, scroll to find Microsoft and then under Network Protocols scroll to find TCP/IP.
As a final step, it is important to make certain you have assigned your computer to be part of a domain. In order to to this, you should
click My Computer, Control Panel, Network, TCP/IP-->Dial-Up Adaptor, Properties and
DNS Configuration. As shown in Figure 1.9, you will set the domain to unibase.com
This completes the installation of the dial-up adaptor and the appropriate network protocol. You can now keep clicking OK and return to the beginning. Windows 95 will want to reboot, and you should accept that option.
