How to build your UNIBASE Homepage

Brought to you in part by:

UNIBASE subscriber homepages may be accessed through theUNIBASE Users' Page. There is no additional cost for this service until your space requirement exceeds 1Mb. Your pages will also be indexed nitely for searching in the Willy Internet Library. You only need to put up a homepage in your root web directory. Please read this page for a detailed how-to, and a couple of hints.

    Off-line

  1. Create/Edit: Using your faviourite editor, create your pages on your system. I find that I use a tight edit/view cycle to accomplish this task. When you are refering to pages that are destined for UNIBASE, be sure to name them blah.html and don't woory about the dos 8.3 restriction.

    On-line

  2. Upload: Using your faviourite ftp client, make a connection to the
    remote host: webpages.unibase.com
login id: your_pop_account (unless you have made alternet arrangements before hand)
password: your_pop_account_password (unless you have made alternet arrangements before hand)
    For example:
    Sorry... image
  3. Reset: Now ensure files are named properly (any .htm files will be renamed to .html), and UNIX read, write & execute permissions to the appropriate values. This step is a security bonus provided by UNIBASE Telecom Ltd. Goto (and bookmark) http://www.unibase.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap?user=your_pop_account&script=reset.
